Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, designed to reduce sound sensitivities, and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through specially filtered music.
How it Works
Your child will be listening to filtered music as guided by their SSP Provider. By activating the middle ear, the modulated music stimulates growth of neuropathways and calming of the autonomic system.
Parents, provide a safe setting and consistent routine for the home listening portion of the program.
Your SSP Provider will support you and your child throughout their SSP experience through weekly sessions that include listening and parent support. Sessions with your provider are available in person (current Happy Camper Clients) or through teletherapy and might be covered by your insurance (Cigna, Aetna, United, Opus).
