EMDR Intensives

Has your family been impacted by trauma? EMDR is an evidence-based treatment for "Big T" and "Little t" trauma including adoption, divorce, grief and medical trauma.

For families and individuals who might have geographic or scheduling limitations, we have developed a three-day, in-person,  EMDR intensive. The intensive can be scheduled over a weekend, including the Friday before or the Monday after. Intensives are available for individual adult clients and families with children over the age of 8.

Preparation Intensive

EMDR is an 8 Phase protocol that begins with History-Taking and Preparation Phases. These two phases are the focus of your EMDR Intensive. These phases typically take 2-3 months of weekly sessions but the intenive model can accomplish the goals of this phase of treatment in one weekend.

This intensive will include two to four hour sessions over two or three consecutive days. Intensives are currently offered in Magnolia, TX. For child and adolescent intensives, parents are active participants and both parents are encouraged to attend. Individual adult clients can bring a support person with them to the intensive.

Lodging accommodations are not included in the intensive package.

During your intensive, you can expect to:

  •  connect in person and establish a relationship with your therapist

  • discuss your history and treatment goals

  • gain essential tools in preparation for EMDR processing

  • develop EMDR resources needed to process your difficult memories

Following your intensive:

You can continue EMDR Therapy either in person or via telehealth (anywhere in Texas). Yes, telehealth can work with EMDR Therapy! For individual family members over the age of 8, continuation of EMDR Therapy can take place in your own home from anywhere in Texas. Or...consider a follow up Processing Intensive

Processing Intensive

Processing Intensives provide a concentrated, uninterrupted, time to focus on healing specific troubling memories.  Weekly sessions often do not provide enough time to process troubling memories without having to pause and resume in a later session. Processing intensives can allow for faster processing and reduce the time and cost of therapy required to move on from difficult life experiences. Processing Intensives are currently available for individual adult, adolescent, and child clients over the age of 8.

This intensive will include two to four hour sessions over two or three consecutive days. Intensives are currently offered in Magnolia, TX.
