How we support your family

Trust-based strategies

TBRI-informed

We draw on Trust-Based Relational Intervention principles—connection, empowerment, and correction in that order.

Yours and theirs

Regulation first

When parents understand their own nervous system, it is easier to coach children through meltdowns and opposition.

For real-life routines

Practical tools

Scripts, routines, and repair conversations you can use at bedtime, school mornings, and hard transitions.

Parenting support

You do not have to figure this out alone

Parenting support at Happy Camper is for caregivers of children we serve—or families considering care. Sessions may be telehealth or in-person and focus on your goals: fewer power struggles, stronger attachment, and confidence in discipline that preserves dignity. We are not here to judge; we are here to equip.

Topics we cover

From survival mode to steadiness

Meltdowns and dysregulation, oppositional behavior, trauma-informed parenting, co-parenting alignment, parenting children with ADHD or neurodivergence, and healing your own attachment history so it does not replay with your kids. What parents gain

Calmer homes and clearer leadership

Parents often report feeling less reactive, more prepared, and more connected to their children—even when behavior is still challenging. You will leave with language to use in the moment and a plan for what to practice between sessions.

How parenting support works — Happy Camper

How parenting support works

Focused sessions for caregivers

Parenting support typically includes:

  • Clarifying what is going on at home and what you want to change
  • Learning regulation and connection strategies before correction
  • Role-play and scripts for high-stress moments
  • Monthly or biweekly sessions—often via secure telehealth
  • Coordination with child therapy when your child is in treatment with us

Parent coaching can stand alone or complement child and family sessions.

Who this is for

Especially helpful if

  • You feel depleted or stuck in power struggles
  • Your child’s therapist recommends more parent involvement
  • You are parenting through trauma, adoption, or foster care
  • You want TBRI-aligned guidance from licensed clinicians
