Three-day, in-person EMDR at The Woodlands Basecamp for adults and families with children age 8+—when weekly sessions are not enough or distance is a barrier.

Intensives are offered at The Woodlands Basecamp. Lodging is not included in the intensive package.

Has your family been impacted by trauma? EMDR is an evidence-based treatment for “Big T” and “Little t” trauma—including adoption, divorce, grief, and medical trauma.

For families and individuals with geographic or scheduling limitations, we offer a three-day, in-person EMDR intensive. Schedule over a weekend (Friday before or Monday after), for individual adults or families with children age 8 and older.

Three pathways

Choose your intensive

Each format follows the EMDR 8-phase protocol—structured, intentional, and led by licensed clinicians.

01

Preparation Intensive

EMDR is an 8-phase protocol that begins with history-taking and preparation. These phases are the focus of your EMDR Intensive—work that often takes 2–3 months of weekly sessions, condensed into one focused weekend.

This intensive includes two- to four-hour sessions over two or three consecutive days at The Woodlands Basecamp. For child and adolescent intensives, parents are active participants; both parents are encouraged to attend. Individual adults may bring a support person.

During your intensive, you can expect to:

  • Connect in person and establish a relationship with your therapist
  • Discuss your history and treatment goals
  • Gain essential tools in preparation for EMDR processing
  • Develop EMDR resources needed to process difficult memories

Following your intensive

You can continue EMDR therapy in person or via telehealth anywhere in Texas—including from home for individual family members age 8+. Or consider a follow-up Processing Intensive.

02

Processing Intensive

Processing Intensives provide concentrated, uninterrupted time to heal specific troubling memories. Weekly sessions often require pausing mid-memory; intensives can allow faster processing and may reduce total time and cost to move forward.

Available for individual adults, adolescents, and children age 8+. Sessions run two to four hours over two or three consecutive days at The Woodlands Basecamp. For minors, parents participate actively and one parent is required. Adults are encouraged to have support available between sessions.

03

Family Intensive

For families with one or two adolescents needing intensive healing, our Nature-Based Family Retreat combines nature-based family therapy and EMDR—with attachment and trauma healing at the center.

A weekend of individual and group interventions in the rest and beauty of an all-inclusive retreat setting.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

  • EMDR intensives are extended, focused sessions designed to make meaningful progress on trauma or distressing memories in a shorter overall timeline than weekly appointments alone.

Intensives are planned collaboratively with your therapist after a readiness assessment; they are not appropriate for every client or every season of life.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help people recover from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences.

Through bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements), EMDR helps the brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. It is widely used for PTSD, but also effective for anxiety, grief, chronic stress, and negative self-beliefs.

  • We focus on nature-assisted EMDR and comprehensive child and family therapy—including play therapy, concierge mobile services, and experiential outdoor work when clinically appropriate.

Our clinicians have particular depth with trauma related to childhood and attachment, medical experiences, and religious or spiritual harm.

  • Start with a free 15-minute discovery call. We will ask about your goals, timeline, and comfort with outdoor or intensive formats.

Standard weekly therapy, concierge mobile play therapy, and specialized experiences can sometimes complement each other—we will help you map a path that makes sense.
